Bring a Mission team

Serve. Connect. Make a Lasting Impact.

Island Impact Ministries helps churches, universities, medical professionals, youth groups, and other organizations serve communities in the Dominican Republic.

Each mission trip is customized according to your team’s size, experience, ministry interests, and available budget. Whether your group serves through medical outreach, construction, evangelism, children’s ministry, or a combination of activities, we will help you develop a meaningful and well-organized mission experience.

Our Dominican ministry team provides the local relationships, knowledge, and in-country support necessary to help your team serve effectively.

WAYS YOUR TEAM CAN SERVE

Every mission team is different. We will work with your leadership to develop a schedule that matches your group’s abilities and ministry goals.

Medical Outreach

Doctors, nurses, nursing students, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals can provide basic medical care, health education, medications, and prayer in underserved communities.

Our Dominican staff helps coordinate locations, community contacts, translators, transportation, and other necessary support.

Construction and Home Improvement

Construction teams help families and churches with projects such as:

  • Home repairs
  • Roof replacement
  • Concrete and block work
  • Painting
  • Doors and windows
  • Plumbing and electrical improvements
  • Church and community facility repairs

Projects are selected and planned before the team arrives so materials, contractors, and community contacts can be coordinated.

Evangelism and Community Outreach

Teams can share the love of Christ through:

  • Home visits
  • Personal prayer
  • Community evangelism
  • Church services
  • Testimonies
  • Distribution of Bibles and ministry materials

Children’s Ministry and VBS

Teams may participate in Vacation Bible School, children’s activities, games, music, Bible lessons, crafts, and community events.

Programs are adapted to the number and ages of the children expected to attend.

Customized Ministry Projects

Many teams combine several types of ministry during one trip. A team might spend part of its week conducting medical outreaches, working on homes, visiting families, and participating in local church services.

Tell us about your group, and we will help you identify the best opportunities to serve.

WHAT ISLAND IMPACT MINISTRIES PROVIDES

In-country coordination and support

Our team provides the in-country coordination and support needed to help your group serve safely and effectively.

The Island Impact Ministries registration fee includes:

  • In-country ground transportation
  • Airport pickup and return
  • Transportation to ministry locations
  • Local ministry coordination
  • Translators when needed
  • Security and local guidance
  • Administrative support
  • Team orientation
  • Coordination with churches, community leaders, contractors, and ministry partners

Hotel lodging is arranged separately and is not included in the registration fee. However, registration and lodging payments may be submitted together for your convenience.

What each team member is personally responsible for

Each team member is personally responsible for purchasing airfare to Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic.

Team members must also pay Island Impact Ministries for their:

  • All-inclusive hotel lodging
  • Island Impact Ministries registration fee

In addition, each team raises the funds needed for its chosen ministry projects. These expenses may include:

  • Medicines and medical supplies
  • Construction materials and local labor
  • Evangelism and children’s ministry supplies
  • Food or relief distributions
  • Transportation or equipment required for special projects
  • Optional excursions and recreational activities

Because every trip is customized, the final cost depends on the team’s size, length of stay, selected projects, and planned activities. We will help your leadership develop a realistic trip budget before fundraising begins.

WHAT A TYPICAL MISSION TRIP LOOKS LIKE

Most teams serve for approximately seven days, although schedules may be adjusted according to the group’s needs.

A typical trip may include:

  • Arrival and airport transportation
  • Team orientation
  • Several days of ministry and project work
  • Worship or ministry with a local church
  • Community visits and prayer
  • An optional excursion or cultural activity
  • Team debriefing
  • Transportation to the airport

Schedules remain flexible because weather, transportation, community needs, and other local conditions may require adjustments.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at contact@islandimpact.net if you cannot find an answer to your question.

We welcome churches, youth groups, universities, medical professionals, ministry organizations, and other groups that share our desire to serve people with compassion and demonstrate the love of Christ.

Teams must have a minimum of 15 participants. We can accommodate groups of up to 60+, provided the team raises sufficient project funds for the medicines, construction materials, or other resources needed to keep everyone meaningfully involved throughout the trip.

Most mission trips last approximately seven days. Shorter or longer trips may be considered depending on lodging availability, ministry plans, and in-country scheduling.

Teams should normally arrange flights to Gregorio Luperón International Airport in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. Its airport code is POP.

Please confirm your proposed flights with Island Impact Ministries before purchasing tickets.

Teams stay at an all-inclusive hotel selected in coordination with Island Impact Ministries. Hotel lodging is a separate expense from the ministry registration fee.

International travel always involves some risk. Team members should also review current travel information and consult their healthcare providers before traveling.

The registration fee does not include airfare, hotel lodging, passports, personal travel expenses, ministry project costs, medicines, construction materials, excursions, or other expenses outside the approved in-country support package.

Each team raises the money needed for its selected projects. Island Impact Ministries will work with the team leader to estimate project expenses and establish a budget before the trip.

Whenever possible, we purchase medicines in the Dominican Republic. This simplifies transportation and helps ensure that the medications are appropriate for local needs. If your team plans to bring donated medicines, they must be approved by Island Impact Ministries in advance and must not be expired or close to their expiration date.
