Nursing students from the Univ. of N. Alabama are participating in Christian humanitarian initiatives as they embark on a mission to a village in the Dominican Republic, where they will support the local medical ministry by treating the sick in their medical clinics.

Island Impact Ministries is a U.S. registered, 501(c) non-profit organization, established in 2003. Our Christian humanitarian initiatives are driven by our faith, compelling us to spread the good news of the Gospel to those in need. We firmly believe that 'faith without works is dead,' so we actively share our faith by providing essential medical, food, and housing assistance to the underserved communities in the Dominican Republic and Haiti. Our mission is realized through our Dominican Republic medical ministry, local medical clinics, and the support of visiting teams and the generous donations from ordinary people.

Rob and Kelli Nelson bring over 35 years of combined experience serving on the Island of Hispaniola, encompassing both Haiti and the Dominican Republic, through Christian humanitarian initiatives and within the healthcare systems of these countries. Rob is an ordained minister affiliated with the Assemblies of God, while Kelli is a certified Nurse Practitioner with experience both abroad and in the USA, particularly in the Dominican Republic medical ministry and medical clinics in Dominica.
